Welcome to Monflow

by Patricija Gurgzdyte

I remember hearing that phrase in middle school. My classmates said it so confidently - I hated it. Even then, I knew that there had to be a difference. Gambling relies on chance, while investing relies on knowledge. But as time passed, I realised that if no one teaches you the distinction, you have no other choice but to connect the two. This is what made me realize just how easily our perception of money forms and how profoundly it shapes our future decisions.

When we’re still young, money can almost seem like a gift. We only see the pretty wrapper on the outside of it - a credit card, a few cents, maybe the 20 euros dad gave. We don’t yet see what's underneath - the taxes, the first loan, and inflation - we're too young to notice those. Yet our financial habits are built early. How we spend, save, and think about risk quietly accumulates over time. Financial literacy isn’t something that one masters overnight; it’s a slow process of learning to use money as a tool to navigate the future more easily.

Growing up in Lithuania, I’ve noticed that financial education depends heavily (perhaps too heavily!) on personal environment. While financial topics do appear in the school curriculum, they’re not deeply integrated. Most of what young people know about money comes from their families or social media. But what if financial education started earlier and was more accessible? This question led me to create (company name). My goal is simple – make financial education clear, relatable, and empowering. I want young people to gain the confidence to manage money and face responsibilities independently, making the transition into adulthood easier and less intimidating.

How do young people in your country learn about money? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Follow along to see how (company name) evolves and join the conversation on shaping the next generation of financially literate young adults.
